It all began in 1993 when God opened the door for Cherie to travel to Bulgaria on a short-term missionary trip. While there God did amazing things and as a result Cherie left part of her heart there. Every year she would return hoping to recapture her heart, but always left a larger portion behind.

In 2000 Cherie, Keith and their 2 daughters Lindsey and Jessica moved to Bulgaria. In the first 2 weeks of being in the country they were asked by the nationals to open a center to help women and teenagers heal over deep heart hurts. After much prayer they felt led to open The Truth and Hope Foundation.

Currently, the daily ministries of the foundation-Bible studies and counseling-continue with their Bulgarian staff. The Fresonkes believe that it is the nationals who can reach their country for Christ much more effectively since they understand the diverse culture and language.

With Lindsey and Jessica grown and married, Keith and Cherie are free to travel between Bulgaria and the States where they continue their ministry on both sides of the world. Cherie is on staff at Calvary Chapel Murrieta. She is the overseer of the women’s counseling ministry. Keith continues to work in the construction industry which helps them financially be able to continue God’s work. They travel to Bulgaria 3 times per year where they spend a total of 3-4 months. Thanks to the internet they are able to stay in touch with both ministries no matter which side of the world they are on.
